"Well then. Something tells me—I don't know, maybe some kind of avian sub-routine—that you have decided. No, don't tell me. I don't want to know.

 

"(By the way: I'm not trying to blow your mind by saying I don't want to know, when it's obvious that I do know, because I know everything that happens in this building... you know, the"—he drops his voice to a ridiculous stage-whisper—"TEE ESS TEE TEE. I'm just trying to save us all some time.)

 

"Here is how this goes. You will demonstrate certain learning objectives, the ones about 'Knowledge of Roman culture' and 'Applied analysis of modern culture in light of Roman culture.' Man, this assessment junk makes even me think it's made up, and I was specifically designed to do it.

 

"You will build an outline for a presentation. Then you will deliver it to me, here in my office. And then you will tell your parental figures, whoever they may be, all about how you had to give this silly presentation, and can they believe your Latin teacher thinks Latin is relevant to modern life.

 

"First step, though."
